Position Overview:

You will develop and manage global, regional or market level programs using your subject matter expertise to support of our Impact pillars of Sustainability, Mindful Snacking, and Social Impact. In this role, you will direct others (internally and externally) on the implementation of programs to grow our business.

How you will contribute

As you implement the programs, you will oversee cross-functional project teams, agencies and NGO partners, manage program budgets, create and maintain reports on program results. You will work locally with business colleagues and external partners to implement plans under each respective pillar.

The Senior Manager Sustainability will work with the Senior Director Sustainable Snacking, on the integration of MDLZ’s Sustainability agenda in MDLZ’s key global and local brands and in the 14 BUs, making sure sustainability is part of the plans and budgets of these entities and brands, supporting them in their journey and developing the sustainability capabilities of marketers and key BU functions.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in marketing or project management and some experience or at least knowledge and interest in key sustainability topics.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support BUs on MDLZ’s sustainability program, helping BUs deploy and manage the programs locally in line with our global impact strategy and targets (sustainable ingredients, sustainable packaging, environmental impact and social sustainability)
  • Support MDLZ’s brands in adopting sustainability programs in their brands and products and leveraging sustainability as a competitive advantage when in line with the brand DNA/ purpose and positioning and with the brand journey.
  • Support the brands in building the right brand purpose, products and claims around sustainability
  • Support the development of market research on Sustainability with the Insights team and the external stakeholders to help BUs and brands better understand consumer expectations around Sustainability
  • Develop and monitor a reporting system with brands and BUs to track progress on their Sustainability initiatives
  • Build “best practices hub” on Sustainability where brands and BUs can find all relevant information on key initiatives and progress around Sustainability, developing a collaborative community on sustainability topics
  • Benchmark regularly MDLZ’s brands’ work with that of competitors and other CPG companies to offer advice and guidance to brands on successful initiatives
  • Capability Building: Build strong sustainability understanding and skills in BUs among brand and cross-functional teams
  • Communicate with key internal stakeholders the progress made by BUs and brands on a regular basis

Qualifications:

Applicants should have:

  • Previous experience in Marketing or Strategy (brand manager or project manager)
  • Experience in Sustainability would be greatly appreciated
  • Strong Project management skills
  • Strong driver of change and demonstrated learning agility
  • Good Communication skills
  • Data Analytics and Reporting
  • Passion for bringing company purpose to life in tangible ways

No Relocation support available, however for candidates voluntarily moving internationally some minimal support is offered through our Volunteer International Transfer Policy
