Position Overview:

Who are we looking for

  • We’re looking for a high-energy problem solver who’s passionate about renewable energy and its part in making business and the world more sustainable.
  • This role does with a small team to expand Nike’s renewable energy portfolio globally, as Procurement Renewable Energy manager.
  • The candidate needs to have a knack for creatively solving problems, a demonstrated aptitude for working in changing environments, and an ease in connecting with internal and external partners. Thae candidate will also bring outstanding business skills, including deft financial and risk analysis, portfolio management and a track record in reporting.

What will you work on

If this is you, you’ll be working with Global Procurement and various business units and geographies as a key player in delivering Nike long-term renewable energy aspirations including achieving 100% across our facilities globally. You are a critical player in a team together ensuring that Nike is exploring and pursuing opportunities in existing and emerging markets that maximize opportunity, balance risk and deliver against our strategy.

You will lead cross-functional activities to gain up-to-date information on energy needs, projections and opportunities, and keep various participants informed of the process and achievements. You will work with internal and external consultants to find, analyze and pursue deals. You will support executive-level decision making about the strategy and direction of renewable energy. You will lead and report on key contracts, and serve as a functional specialist inside the organization.

A typical day/week includes reviewing external news and trends, supervising performance of contracts, facilitating team discussion and advancing new opportunities and ongoing projects, making progress on internal reporting and tracking, brainstorming ways to improve suppliers’ sustainability practices, and connecting with partners in and outside the company. No two days will be the same, but none will be boring.

Who will you work with

The Procurement Sustainability manager will report into Procurement and work closely with teams including Global Sustainability and Sustainable Manufacturing and Sourcing, as well as other business and support functions. The role will include managing workflows and processes, as well as occasional teammates from analyst, intern and stretch programs, and external consultants or contractors.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Corporate Responsibility/Sustainability, Energy or a related field; advanced degree preferred
  • Comprehensive research and analytical skills; ability to capture information quickly and to synthesize it into measurable information
  • 5+ years’ experience in business analysis
  • 2+ years’ experience working in regulated commodities or industry with exposure to large-scale deals
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including experience creating and delivering presentations to senior leadership and external leaders
