Position Overview:

Become a Part of the NIKE, Inc. Team

NIKE, Inc. does more than outfit the world’s best athletes. It is a place to explore potential, obliterate boundaries and push out the edges of what can be. The company looks for people who can grow, think, dream and create. Its culture thrives by embracing diversity and rewarding imagination. The brand seeks achievers, leaders and visionaries. At NIKE, Inc. it’s about each person bringing skills and passion to a challenging and constantly evolving game.

The NIKE, Inc. Supply Chain team is the engine that propels product around the world. Supply Chain experts ensure that every year, almost a billion units of footwear, apparel and equipment arrive at the right place, at the right time. To ensure this complex job goes off without a hitch, Supply Chain teams work with a network of more than 50 distribution centers, thousands of accounts, and more than 100,000 retail stores worldwide — making the impossible happen every single day.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

At Nike our supply chain and our logistics athletes are our competitive advantage in how we continuously elevate the Nike experience for our consumers.

As we execute our Digital First Supply Chain Strategy within Operations, we are looking for a star candidate to ensure our first UK omnichannel Distribution Centre (DC) will be a shining beacon of innovation and inspiration for sustainability and circularity.

As the Sustainability & Circularity Manager you will play a key role within the new UK DC organisation with responsibility for landing the very best sustainability initiatives in our new building design, operation and integration with the local community and environment.

Our vision is to create an enduring and inspirational logistics centre that showcases the power of bringing sport closer to the communities we serve. This role requires effective and strong partnerships with multiple stakeholders to bring this vision to life and showcase the very best of Nike’s commitment to Move to Zero.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

As our Sustainability & Circularity Manager you will devise and embed a range of initiatives that ensure we are ready to make an enduring impact on the local community, the local environment, and ultimately the consumer experience in the UK. From the building design, to the day to day operation and beyond you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure we have strong levels of engagement, inspiration and support for Nike’s Move to Zero on carbon and waste. You will play a critical role to search, pilot, design and scale new capabilities for the program linked to our commitment to lead in sustainability.

You will embrace Nike’s unique culture of innovation, disruption and dynamism to break new boundaries in the creation of a truly great working environment that has sustainability embedded at the core of everything we design for today and tomorrow. This will involve a deep understanding of the needs of the business, the local community, and the positive impact that Nike can bring.

You will add to a team environment that embraces limitless creativity, frequent celebration and high energy in the pursuit of inspirational design. You will always play to win, combining energy with the latest ground breaking innovations relevant to our sustainability ambitions.

WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?

Reporting into the Director for Transition & Legacy, you will work closely with the program leads to inspire and integrate a culture focused on sustainability and circularity, aligning ideas and impact closely with Nike’s internal Sustainability teams. You will work directly with our creative and lead architects, operational and process design teams for the DC, multiple internal teams (such as Transportation, Legal, Comms), and a range of external agencies, innovators, disruptors and game changers. This is, also, most importantly about landing enduring change through our new athletes who should be ready to embrace, elevate and embed your ideas as they commit to serving our consumers every day with a passion for sustainability.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Demonstrable experience in the successful delivery of impactful sustainability initiatives, preferably in logistics or construction.
  • Deep knowledge of sustainable building practices, renewable energy, waste management principles and circular economy principles.
  • A seasoned team player with clear progressive experience in engaging and inspiring a range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver enduring change.
  • A self-starter with real passion and motivation for sustainability.
  • A track record of Influencing organizations towards time-critical decision making and creating and creating a culture of ownership and innovation.
  • A great communicator, able to convey your thoughts, ideas and opinions clearly and concisely face-to-face or virtually to all levels up and down stream.
  • Demonstrable ability to work in a large, matrixed organization, successfully influencing others and building collaborative partnerships to deliver large scale projects.

NIKE, Inc. is a growth company that looks for team members to grow with it. Nike offers a generous total rewards package, casual work environment, a diverse and inclusive culture, and an electric atmosphere for professional development. No matter the location, or the role, every Nike employee shares one galvanizing mission: To bring inspiration and innovation to every athlete* in the world.

NIKE, Inc. is committed to employing a diverse workforce. Qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, veteran status, or disability.
