- Collaborate with upstream engineering teams to design “cradle to cradle” products
- Work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, facilities, design, maintenance, production, supply chain, finance and procurement teams to deliver on Rivian’s circularity and sustainability targets
- Drive the implementation of Rivian’s zero waste program by building partnerships across business groups and driving initiatives in a collaborative and influential way
- Research, develop, and implement the roadmap to reach zero waste and circularity
- Generate business plans and cost-benefit analyses for major engagements with vendor partners, supported by data and metric reporting. In other words – quantify ambiguous problems and solve them smartly.
- Develop and improve internal processes to drive efficient execution
- Assist and collaborate with teams at the manufacturing facility to creatively monetize and reuse waste
this is what you’ll need:
- A strong passion for sustainability and circularity

- Persuasive style and motivational skills that drive participation across business units within the company
- Experience and knowledge with circular economy concepts, particularly in the context of product engineering, facilities, and materials selection
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information in a concise way to a non-technical audience, and vice versa
- Ability to align business implications while considering applicable regulatory and market constraints
- Breadth of exposure and demonstrated understanding of multiple company functions and how they connect. Ex: Engineering, Manufacturing, Facilities. Retail and Service. Finance.
- Demonstrated ability to solve ambiguous, cross-functional problems and set execution plans as well as develop processes
- Highly motivated self-starter and constructive team-player
- Ability to identify “next steps” independently and execute on a plan with significant autonomy
- Ability to have impactful conversations that educate stakeholders and influence cross-functional teams
