Position Overview:
Be the change that saves the planet. The Salesforce Sustainability team is seeking a sustainability education manager who will be responsible for designing, building, curating and updating developing content for our Global Sustainability initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong journalistic and content management background working on complex projects involving cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders, as well as a strong foundation of program management skills and best practices. The ideal candidate will have first-hand, in-depth knowledge and experience with sustainability and matrixed technology organizations in general.
This position will be part of a team whose focus is to ensure accurate, current, clear, consistent, accessible sustainability content as a central resource library for our Net Zero Cloud product team, our sales, service and industry teams, and across Salesforce globally. This is a key and strategic role that requires a balance of content development expertise, executive-level communication experience, and program management skills as well as a strong “roll up your sleeves and get it done” mentality.
Primary Responsibilities
Content Strategy
- Support the development of a Salesforce education content development plan and resource library
- Align with business unit leadership, Industries, Sales and Service GoTo Market teams, Product team, and other regional teams to influence design, drive adoption, and measure enablement program success
- Coordinate with Salesforce Trailhead and and other Salesforce sustainability extended team members to ensure best practices are being applied
Content Development, Curation and Execution
- Lead Sustainability Education content strategy planning and execution with quarterly milestones and a content management plan Content Communications
- Effectively communicate Salesforce Sustainability resource library scope, details and updates to core team, and key internal and external stakeholders
- Manage an integrated content communication plan with the goal of ensuring support teams and stakeholders are aligned, consistent and education outreach can effectively scale
Measurement and Continuous Improvement
- Drive accountability, ownership, metrics and the impact for the Sustainability resource library
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by actively collecting feedback through various methods (e.g., tracking, assessments, surveys, focus groups, etc.), evaluating learning effectiveness, and recommending changes to optimize the learning experience
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Required
- Deep understanding of content creation process, cross media and content management in a technology company
- 5+ years of experience in journalism preferably in the climate arena and/or professional writing/editing at a tech company (or within a similar fast-paced industry)
- Produce content of all kinds – including blog posts, SEO articles, e-books, guides, social media copy, short videos, influencer interviews – for a wide set of internal and external stakeholders including sales, post sales, industry teams, partners
- Capture knowledge from Salesforce sustainability experts, and external thought leaders and infuse their knowledge into our centralized resource library.
- Tech industry knowledge, particularly with: Product Development, Channel Sales and Support
- Program management experience, in particular in building and maintaining positive working relationships while delivering results in a highly complex, matrixed global organization.
- Advanced content and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, related tasks, people, and deadlines.
- Good working understanding of key project management tools including spreadsheets (Google Sheets, Excel, SmartSheets.) Excellent Powerpoint skills. Experience using Salesforce in a business setting is a plus.
- Courage to challenge perspectives, and give and receive constructive and transparent feedback
Preferred
- 7+ years content strategy and enablement experience; working with and influencing content development and delivery across media and channels
- 3+ years background in climate and sustainability
- Familiar with Salesforce/large tech selling motion
- Familiar with Salesforce industry products
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- A bachelor’s degree is required; masters in communications and/or journalism preferred
- Salesforce Ranger Certification is a plus; otherwise, attainment will be required within two years of employment
