Position Overview:

Sodexo is seeking a Sustainability and Wellness Specialist for the Mass General Brigham Healthcare System in the surrounding Boston, MA area. This position will be responsible for managing the sustainability and wellness programs for seven of the Sodexo-managed Mass General Brigham Hospital locations.

This is a Hybrid position with a flexible schedule.

The successful candidate will:

• Collaborate with operations teams to develop sustainability programs for the cafeteria and other retail outlets, patient food service, and community outreach.
• Provide integration of wellness and sustainability programs into client and Sodexo employee benefit offerings.
• Assume major role in client sustainability initiatives by managing programs with a high degree of environmental consciousness to support the client’s commitment to reducing the system-wide carbon footprint as well as moving toward improved sustainability practices at each individual unit.
• Work in tandem with Sodexo and the client organization leadership responsible for sustainability and wellness as well as be directly involved in the alignment of purchasing, waste management, and documentation as well as publishing of results both internally and externally.
• Develop programs in alignment with Sodexo and client mission and vision.
• Assist management teams in developing account business plans to enhance facility layout and design, account profitability and retention, and client and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain and develop client relationships and client satisfaction to ensure account retention.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as Sodexo/client policies and procedures (e.g. Health Dept., HIPAA/Privacy Act, Joint Commission, quality assurance, safety, operations, and personnel) by keeping abreast of the most recent nutrition-related trends, research, policy, certifications, and standards of practice.

• Undergraduate degree in Nutrition required (1-3 years professional experience preferred).
• Registered Dietitian credentials preferred (new RD graduates will be considered).
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
• Have the proven ability to effectively engage, motivate and influence others.
• Have strong presentation and marketing skills.
• Have demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities with the ability to adapt the changing needs of the role.
• Have a history of working independently with little direction.
• Have a commitment to continued education in the wellness & sustainability field and implement new and innovative ideas.
• Have an ability to travel to assigned accounts to visit, inspect, and engage operations teams on a regular basis.
• Employees in Healthcare and Seniors are required to be fully vaccinated as a term and condition of employment at Sodexo no later than February 28, 2022, absent a legally required exception, and are required to report their vaccination status and upload proof of vaccination via an online portal.
  • After February 28, you must be fully vaccinated before you can start work. Fully vaccinated by February 28 means:
  • Obtain the first dose of a two-dose vaccine no later than January 27, 2022; and the second dose no later than February 28, 2022; or
  • Obtain one dose of a single-dose vaccine no later than January 27, 2022

Position Summary
Under general direction; the outside-the-unit Sustainability Support Specialist performs duties involving moderate responsibility, complexity and variety in sustainability operations support and deployment of sustainability initiatives across regional areas to implement, measure and continuously improve the Better Tomorrow Plan (BTP) offers. Develops a thorough understand of client and customer base. Works closely with procurement on product availability and specification to aid offer development / adaptation in reinforcing the company’s targets for cash sales, new contract gains, and client retention. Evaluates how offer modules can best serve the immediate needs of the client and their customers as well as support the broader Sodexo strategy. Consults with resources across all functions. May participate in offer presentation to clients. Contributes to building the network of sustainability experts and development projects. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Education Requirement – Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience

Basic Functional Experience – 2 years experience in supporting client relations and sustainability efforts
