While reporting to the Assistant Director, Global Sustainability, you will be responsible for supporting Sonoco’s sustainability initiatives across the Consumer and Industrial businesses. You will manage internal stakeholder engagement on sustainability-related aspects of Sonoco’s packaging, including but not limited to; developing internal communication supporting the Sonoco’s sustainability efforts, managing tool development on sustainability-related databases, and coordinating compliance activities.

• Support the execution of Sonoco’s global sustainable packaging strategy.
• Manage internal communication of Sonoco’s sustainable packaging initiatives and activities.
• Develop internal tools that support commercial team engagement with customers on requests related to sustainability attributes, compliance, and reporting.
• Collect, analyze and communicate internally, market and customer insights as it relates to sustainable packaging.

This position is located at our Global Corporate Headquarters in Hartsville, South Carolina.

• BS or BA in a relevant field
• Two years of experience in a sustainability role or recent college graduate with sustainability or related background. Packaging industry experience preferred.
• Ability to support the development of databases to be used in sustainability compliance and reporting initiatives.
• Expertise in Microsoft suite of products including; Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
• Strong attention to detail.
