Position Overview:

JOB SUMMARY
The Manager, Sustainability supports the Corporate Services’ organization for climate related measurement, management and reporting related to Charter’s greenhouse gas (GHG) and carbon emissions from real estate, planning, project and facilities management portfolio. This position is key to Charter’s Sustainability department delivery on energy efficiency program management, reporting, analysis, and relationship-building to reduce Charter’s carbon footprint within our buildings portfolio which helps reduce the costs of our operations, drives efficiencies and reduces emissions. With an intense focus on data integrity, process consistency and reporting accuracy, this role will deliver cost effective, operationally efficient, environmentally conscious and value-added sustainable reporting and practices within business operations. Serving as a key member of the Sustainability team, this position will report to the Director, Sustainability.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for developing energy management best practices and cross-functional energy efficiency program in the real estate portfolio to support Charter’s carbon neutral goal

Manage visualization updates, data design and filtering requirements of Charter’s energy efficiency management dashboard in close collaboration with Corporate Services Data Analytics & Reporting team

Primary point of contact for Sustainability within Corporate Services departments, focused on driving progress on a multi-year strategy to consistently integrate practical, cost efficient, and beneficial practices within existing processes across our real estate, planning, project and facilities management portfolio

Report energy data in various formats (Excel, PPT, dashboards) and breakouts (by business division) to support energy management best practices and as requested by Director, Sustainability

Responsible for developing the business case – cost, energy and GHG savings – for energy efficiency projects in the real estate portfolio, including standardized financial template for use across all energy efficiency projects and incorporating related tax incentives as appropriate

Consistently apply methodology for stack ranking and prioritizing energy efficiency projects based upon Charter-specific criteria, such as cost savings and contribution to carbon neutral goal

Leverage Charter’s scale of operations and evaluates multi-site energy efficiency project opportunities to drive better return on investment (ROI) across the real estate portfolio

Track data on all energy efficiency projects implemented at Charter for potential reporting, including collection of any existing energy efficiency project data from site managers

Support continuous process improvements, analysis, audits and reporting on energy efficiency initiatives and associated data

Research individual topics as requested on operational practices, energy efficiency, energy management and eco-design

Manage and ensure Sustainability department is responsive to employee inquiries

Perform other duties as requested that support the success of Charter’s Sustainability program

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel: ability to consolidate tabs from different spreadsheets, use existing formulas and functionality such as VLOOKUP
Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
Experience using online content management and collaboration tools (i.e., SharePoint)
Familiarity and understanding of greenhouse gas emission accounting standards and guidelines (GHG Protocol)

Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in sustainability, environmental sciences, energy management, sustainable building design, environmental engineering or related field

Required Related Work Experience and Number of Years
Energy efficiency and/or energy management experience: 4+
Energy management experience within an operationally complex industry, such as telecommunications, manufacturing, oil / gas, utilities: 2+

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Knowledge of Corporate Real Estate and financial planning and budgeting is a plus
Knowledge of the telecommunications, technology and connectivity industries

Preferred Education
Sustainable building certifications such as LEED and/or WELL certification

Some travel required, primarily for energy efficiency and sustainability related conferences

The pay for this position has a salary range of $76,800.00 to $135,800.00. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
