This position manages Starbucks Environmental Social Governance (ESG) Reporting and Disclosure program to build and maintain trust with stakeholders with a cohesive global narrative that is transparent, intentional, and accountable in support of our People, Planet and Profit aspirations. This position contributes to the success of the team by leading a cross-functional team to coordinate timely public facing ESG Reports and Disclosures for various audiences.
This role requires a high level of organization, writing and communication skills. A successful candidate thrives in a complex and dynamic work environment. This individual should have interest in global public policy, sustainability and social impact and be a team player with an excellent work ethic. As a program manager, you will…
- Manage one empowered team of Starbucks partners across business units to deliver key reports, disclosures, and updates to the ESG Reporting Hub
- Coordinate Starbucks engagement in ESG surveys, external inquiries, and ratings agencies to ensure that the companies disclosure efforts meet the business, regulatory, and stakeholder needs
- Build structure and processes around new reports and surveys, and overall new and emerging ESG enterprise goals
- Effectively communicate deadlines, analysis, and results for reporting efforts to all internal stakeholders including senior leadership
- Lead working sessions with large cross-functional teams to co-create solutions on ESG issues
- Perform due diligence and regular monitoring of the companies ESG metrics, working with internal and third parties on data validation
- Benchmark with ESG reporting and disclosures peers through events and conversations to shape company best practices
We’d love to hear from people with:
- Highly experienced in collaborating with diverse teams to co-create solutions through planning, designing and leading working sessions that leads to demonstrated results
- Excellent cross-functional stakeholder management skills and maintaining stakeholder relationships
- Ability to navigate highly complex and/or ambiguous work while leading cross-functional groups and ensuring all teams are brought along
- Preferred previous experience or knowledge in Global Public Policy issues and coordinate organizational wide ESG reports and disclosures
- Skilled in visual storytelling (i.e. building presentation materials) to bring stakeholders along and effectively communicate program goals to Starbucks senior level leadership
- Highly experienced in virtual collaboration tools (Miro/Smartsheet/others)
- Ability to break down complex work and build processes and structure
- Proficient communication skills
- Ability to self-manage and take initiative
- Skilled in building cross-functional roadmaps, timelines and overseeing cross-functional teams to drive work forward
