Position Overview:

Sustento is seeking a Sustainability Manager to provide first class customer service, developing and implementing client sustainability initiatives. The role will initially focus on Sustento’s primary engagement, the Los Angeles Better Buildings Challenge (LABBC), with the opportunity to expand to other programs as the company grows.

Reports to: Director of Outreach and Engagement

Time Commitment: 40 hours / week, one day in the office in DTLA, work remotely other days

Compensation: W-2 position, paid vacation & sick time, reimbursement for qualified medical premiums

Outline of Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Lead client engagement for LABBC and other programs
  • Prepare presentations and written communications to support client initiates and outreach
  • Provide project management support to identify and implement energy and water efficiency strategies that meet sustainability and financial goals
  • Provide rebate education and support
  • Support program workflows and operations through coordination with team
  • Provide customer support through the Resource Center
  • Conduct sustainability assessments, implement policies, track ongoing progress, and conduct educational webinars and presentations
  • Support preparation of GRESB and other annual sustainability reports, speaking engagements and award applications
  • Train junior sustainability managers
  • Support ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager data management and other sustainability programs

Qualifications

  • Relevant work experience and education in project management and client engagement
  • Background in commercial real estate and GRESB reporting
  • Self-starter, able to work independently in a dynamic work environment
  • Personable, with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Management, teaching, writing, and presentation skills
  • Experience with Salesforce and ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager
  • Microsoft Office tools proficiency required
  • Our team is currently working remotely due to COVID-19, however, candidates must be local and be available to attend meetings at our downtown Los Angeles office once we resume in-person meetings. Relocation is not offered for this position.
