Position Overview:

Job Summary:

The ESG Analyst is a key member of the Sustainability team and will support a wide range of data gathering, analysis, disclosure preparation and support for all aspects of Sysco’s sustainability and corporate governance programs. This person will also play a critical role in monitoring the collection and submission of emissions data to assist the company in obtaining its climate reduction goals as well as among distilling internal and external data into well thought out summary information that supports decision making for all of Sysco’s sustainability leaders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the company’s ESG initiatives and disclosures including working with a cross-functional team to collect, organize and analyze data for the annual sustainability reports, SASB, GRI, CDP, TCFD and overall emissions tracking to show progress against the companies SBTi goals.
  • Monitor and track progress against ESG goals and metrics
  • Develop and maintain internal control processes to assure metrics and data in ESG disclosures
  • Coordinate the Company’s responses to investor, customer and other stakeholder requests for ESG information.
  • Serve as a thought leader on emerging trends and best practices to ensure the company is delivering best in class reporting
  • Assist with other corporate governance and compliance matters
  • Provide regular updates on progress to leadership and CSR teams, escalate roadblocks and provide potential solutions

Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Education Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Agriculture, related fields

Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Agriculture, related fields
  • Two (2) or more years of relevant experience, including experience working in corporate affairs or an ESG function in a corporate environment or investment firm.
  • Experience with ESG/sustainability reporting and disclosure, including knowledge of current tools and trends; policy positions of proxy advisory firms, ESG raters and rating agencies; and requirements of SASB, TCFD and other reporting frameworks and standards

Experience Preferred:

  • Food industry experience preferred – manufacturing, retail or distribution
  • Knowledge of issues relevant to the food industry particularly in the areas of carbon emissions, responsible sourcing and supply chain

Technical Skills and Abilities:

  • Data management experience, using a variety of tools for data management.
  • Strong project management skills, with an eye for detail and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Curious to learn about new regulations, requirements and sustainability reporting standards.
  • Passionate about sustainability and how companies can positively affect the environment and society.
  • Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of delivering high-quality deliverables to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Strong communication skills at all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to take people with you and bring the best out of others.
  • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking and ability to translate theory into action.
