Role Summary
The ESG Strategy Analyst sits within a central ESG Enablement Team at T. Rowe Price. They will focus on helping to develop the firm’s ESG strategy through the assessment of a broad array of competitor, business, fund flow and client analysis. They will also conduct detailed analysis at a business segment or regional level. In addition to analysis, it will be important that the individual can identify key themes and insights; work with others to develop hypotheses & ideas; create visualizations and communicate proposals; and help translate strategy into detailed, actionable and prioritized business plans.
The ESG Strategy Analyst will need to be agile and able to anticipate and respond to the evolving ESG market environment, identifying risks, opportunities and dependencies. There will be opportunities to collaborate with other members of the ESG Enablement Team and expand skills and knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Provide input and analysis to help support and build the ESG strategy for T. Rowe Price under the guidance of the Head of ESG Product, Strategy & Analytics.
- Conduct a broad array of business, customer, fund flow and competitor analysis to inform and validate the ESG Strategy & to provide regular market intelligence for senior leadership. This is a global role so analysis and recommendations will be at a global, regional and client segment level.
- Define analytical frameworks for assessing strategic options. Build economic models where appropriate.
- Synthesize ideas and data to build presentations that explain key findings & proposals to senior leadership.
- Work with Head of ESG Product, Strategy & Analytics to translate strategy into a detailed plan with both short and long term goals and objectives.
- Produce regular reports/analysis to track the Company’s progress versus internal, strategic objectives and competitors.
- Conduct additional ad-hoc primary or secondary market research to inform T. Rowe Price’s plans and to support the broader organization.
- Conduct recurring ESG Assessments, analyzing the firm’s ESG risks and opportunities on an on-going basis and identify new trends
- Develop a strong understanding of relevant business areas, teams, and strategies to ensure ongoing collaboration and alignment with our ESG business.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5+ years of related experience
Preferred:
- Management consulting or related analytical/strategy background preferred.
- Knowledge of financial services, asset management industry.
- Strong analytical, research, and written/verbal communication skills; strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of ESG data sets such as Broadridge and Morningstar, preferred.
- Proficient user of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; ability to learn new software applications quickly such as databases and web applications. Numerate with basic financial modelling capability.
FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.
