Overview:

The Global Sustainability Manager is responsible for measuring Tech Data’s overall environmental impact and providing guidance for the company’s sustainable initiatives. This role aggregates all environmental performance data from multiple systems and sources for Tech Data office locations and logistics centers into a master scorecard of Tech Data environmental metrics, including energy, renewable energy, carbon emissions, water, wastewater, environmentally preferable products, waste, operations, green meetings, and stakeholder engagement. This role contributes to the development and resource planning of global sustainability strategies, serving as a thought partner on how to prioritize and drive sustainability across the company. This role leads and/or supports special strategic projects, including cross-functional working group(s) to deliver our sustainability targets in areas including waste, carbon, safety and labor. The Global Sustainability Manager works as part of the Corporate Communications team to share wins, learnings and results with Tech Data’s stakeholders through high-quality communications.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Required:

  • Aggregate environmental impact and performance data across global business, develop into a master scorecard maintained at a regular cadence

  • Align data-points and units of measure to allow a single and accurate view of all metrics globally

  • Partner in the development and planning of global sustainability strategies

  • Lead cross-functional working group/s to deliver our sustainability targets in areas including waste, carbon, safety, labor

  • Ambassador for Tech Data’s Global Responsibility efforts externally, specifically regarding sustainability

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

  • GRI, SASB, TCFD and GHG Protocol required

  • Knowledge of Science based targets (SBTi) reporting and Carbon Disclosure project (CDP)

  • Strong Sustainability data experience (SME level) needed

  • Able to perform basic mathematical calculations.

  • Able to recognize and attend to important details with accuracy and efficiency.

  • Able to converse and write effectively in English and Spanish.

  • Able to create and conduct formal presentations.

  • Able to negotiate skillfully, promote/sell ideas persuasively, and close transactions with mutually beneficial results.

  • Possesses strong multi-cultural interpersonal skills.

  • Possesses strong leadership skills with a willingness to lead, create new ideas, and be assertive.

  • Able to adjust readily to change and adapt as needed.

  • Able to constructively work under stress and pressure when faced with high workloads and deadlines.

  • Able to maintain and promote social, ethical, and organizational standards in conducting internal and external business activities.

  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision.

  • Able to use relevant computer system applications at a basic level.
