Cosentini Associates (www.cosentini.com), a Tetra Tech company, is seeking a Sustainability Coordinator to join our growing Sustainability Consulting team in our New York City office. We offer a hybrid work environment with the flexibility to work from home and in the office.
About this opportunity:
Our team provides consulting expertise for clients seeking to incorporate sustainability and wellness into large scale real estate developments, including new construction, major renovations, interiors, and campuses. We work alongside design and construction teams to implement sustainability initiatives and certification programs on high profile buildings with sophisticated design and development teams. Applicants must understand sustainability as it applies to the built environment and be capable of executing multiple projects simultaneously. The role requires excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills. Candidates must be deadline driven, detail-oriented and excel at working independently or collaboratively.
Your role:
• Support projects in integrating sustainability and wellness objectives, including third party certifications such as LEED and WELL, from inception through operation
• Review construction drawings, specifications, construction submittals and other building design and construction documents to asses compliance with sustainability and wellness targets
• Review sustainability and wellness related construction submittals
• Aid in the production of calculations, reports and other high-quality deliverables that are submitted on or ahead of schedule
• Interface with third party certification organizations
• Research, analysis and report writing

Requirements:
• B.S. or B.A. in environmental science, architecture, engineering or related discipline
• Minimum one year of work or academic experience in sustainability within the built environment
• Knowledge of the LEED Rating System, including LEED BD+C V4 and V4.1
• Familiarity with drawings and specifications
• Excellent time management skills with an ability to work on multiple tasks and deliver on competing deadlines
• Strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
• Exemplary written and oral communication capabilities
Preferred:
• LEED AP BD+C accreditation
• Direct experience with building design and/or construction
• Experience with WELL, Fitwel, Living Building Challenge, Enterprise Green Communities, TRUE, Passive House and Green Globes or other third-party green building certifications is a plus.
• Familiarity with incentive programs, particularly utilities, Energy Star and NYSERDA
• Proficiency in working with materials databases
• Knowledge of building systems
• Knowledge of AutoCAD
