Position Overview:

We are looking for an exceptional People & Environment Programs Coordinator to join our People Ops team and help support our rapidly growing, geographically dispersed business. You must be passionate about and motivated by the challenge of taking our employee experience, from the time someone applies and onboards, to the next level. The ideal candidate will be energetic, possess a strong work ethic, be phenomenally organized, and have the flexibility to react quickly to changing priorities in a fast-moving environment. You enjoy learning new things, being given more responsibility, and being recognized for all of the contributions you make(especially those outside of your job description). No job is beneath you, and no challenge is too great! This position is based out of our(currently remote) SF office however will support a team that sits between multiple facilities, therefore will frequently, and currently entirely, be able to work remotely.

What you’ll do:

  • People Programs:
    • Champion employee morale! Bring our Core Values to life by coordinating all company events: celebrations for meeting goals, birthdays, anniversaries etc. along with creating opportunities to form personal connections including team-building, volunteer opportunities, holiday parties, etc.
    • Support new hire onboarding experience for both HQ and Field Operations roles, including helping to coordinate orientation schedule, familiarizing new employees with existing team, platforms and processes – always be thinking of new ways to make this part of the employee journey a memorable one.
    • Support bi-annual engagement surveys by finding new ways to encourage participation, helping to analyze results, and ensuring results are factored into new initiatives aimed at maximizing employee engagement.
    • Encourage employees to get involved in efforts related to company culture by seeking feedback and checking in regularly with members of the team.
    • Work with rest of People Ops team to ensure consistency in company culture-related initiatives across Thistle teams and facilities.
    • Assist People Ops team in executing an annual review of Company Handbook.
    • Support Recruitment efforts by helping to coordinate interview process and finding innovative ways to improve candidate experience.
    • Actively participate in company-wide Diversity, Equity & Inclusion efforts, including helping facilitate committee meetings and researching topics such as inclusive hiring practices and best practices.
    • Support development of new employee Learning & Development opportunities.
  • Environment Programs:
    • In conjunction with onsite teams, own Thistle’s Office Environment and all related workflows, including: space planning and maintenance, office moves, equipment inventory management, Vendor Management for supplies/snacks and other office related services – focus should always be on making our space warm, vibrant and comfortable.
    • Support development and launch of cross-facility Safety Initiative committed to ensuring clear standards and practices
    • Support all tech needs, such as conference room/virtual meeting management, laptop inventory for new and existing hires, and hardware/software management, including vetting of 3rd party IT support firms.
    • Track spending on a monthly basis and be on the constant look out to get scrappy and improve our processes.
    • In collaboration with People Operations, create new office policies by establishing standards and procedures; measuring results and making necessary adjustments.
    • Own coordination for all org-level internal meetings, including weekly HQ Huddles and Quarterly All Company Business Updates – this will include owning invitations, assisting in putting together presentation decks, creating relevant content(New Hire Intros, Culture-related updates), sending out summaries, and acting as Zoom host.
    • Potential for add’l cross-functional special project support as needed such as photo/video shoots, field marketing events, or CEO/COO administrative support

What you’ll bring:

  • 3+ years of Office Management/People Ops support experience, preferably at least partly in a startup environment
  • Strong computer skills with experience using G-Suite, Excel, Slack
  • Comfortable putting together well-designed slide decks
  • Experiencing supporting basic IT needs and resourcefulness in troubleshooting office technology needs
  • Positive, energetic team player
  • Flexible and can easily move between projects
  • Organized! You love to keep data and processes clean and updated
  • You love to surprise and delight people and have a knack for coming up with fresh ideas
