Position Overview:
OVERVIEW
The Sustainability Associate is responsible for managing priority environmental and social impact data to enable ongoing improvement against Seventh Generation’s goals and aspirations. The position is responsible for developing and managing a reporting dashboard, with clear explanations of how best to interpret and use data generated. This person is responsible for implementing priority environmental and social impact programs, including supplier sustainability program, green power program and B Corp Impact Assessment and improvement plan.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in project management, working independently, performing analytical tasks, collaborating, and communicating with others and producing high quality work.
CAPABILITIES
- Knowledge of climate change, greenhouse gas emissions accounting, and sustainability.
- Working knowledge of corporate sustainability standards and certifications (B Corp, GHG Protocol, and Science Based Targets).
- Experience in developing greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories for science-based targets, companies, products, and other related GHG accounting efforts.
- Experience in Life Cycle Assessments, product carbon footprints, and use of LCA tools and databases.
- Knowledge of corporate packaging sustainability efforts.
- Knowledge of corporate supply chain and procurement sustainability efforts.
- Experience supporting corporate sustainability strategy a plus.
- Experience with corporate business processes including product design, manufacturing, sourcing and supply chain management, marketing, and business strategy.
REQUIREMENTS
- Undergraduate degree in a technical field (e.g., science or engineering) or a related field.
- At least three years of experience in corporate sustainability role or company.
- Commitment to an equitable and just economy
- High degree of proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
- Excellent, demonstrated collaboration skills.
- Strong information seeking skills and drive to deliver results.
- Strategic, business process-oriented thinker.
