Position Overview:
Background & Purpose of the Job
This role will also be responsible for leading the Sustainability agenda for Logistics. The scope of this role will span across multiple functions in the supply chain organization and include all categories; Beauty, Personal Care, Foods, and Home Care.
Who you Are and What You’ll Do:
The candidate for this role will be responsible to partner closely with the NA Supply Chain, Global Logistics, 3PL/Carrier and IT Service Providers to drive implementation of projects while focusing on performance & sustainability improvements using technology, business process and continuous improvement.
Accountability overview (including, but not limited to):
Integrate sustainability commitments into business planning
- Translate global strategy and sustainability commitments into NA implementation roadmaps, managing the cross-functional and leadership-driven process.
- Lead, track, and monitor progress of NA decarbonization road map to hit Global set targets by “50% reduction” by 2030 & “Net Zero Emissions” by 2039.
- Responsible to lead projects with the teams to drive the decarbonization road maps.
- Support benchmarking exercise in Sustainability integrated with VIP program (cost savings) initiatives to keep in balance Cost, Carbon and Service.
- Unlock new ideas, technologies, and pilots to drive carbon reduction.
- Manage relationships with relevant local logistics team, logistics procurement, and global teams to drive this agenda.
- Unlock funding opportunities and be creative in finding solutions to roadblocks.
- Drive partnership strategies to accelerate and scale implementation.
- Manage the measurement and quarterly data submissions required from the Global Sustainability and Reporting teams for corporate reporting and priority third-party sustainability reports (e.g. Dow Jones Sustainability Index, Carbon Disclosure Project). Enhance reporting as per Global teams’ requirements.
Engage sustainability stakeholders and employees
- Build and engage an external network of sustainability stakeholders and partners, helping to bring the outside in as well as build our reputation as the leader in sustainable business.
- Educate and engage our employees to build knowledge and capability on sustainability.
- Partner with corporate communications and human resources to support employee engagement programs, trainings, and initiatives on sustainability, helping to engage employees as advocates for the company and build sustainability capabilities and knowledge.
- Support the coordination and execution of sustainability events, both internal and external, such as annual progress reports, technology day, etc.
What You’ll Need To Succeed
The ideal candidate must be a thought leader with a demonstrated ability to lead logistics sustainability programs.
You’ll need to demonstrate the following:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree – preferably in Logistics / Supply Chain related discipline. MBA or Master’s a plus.
- A minimum of 3-4 years of experience in driving Sustainability initiatives for Logistics / Supply Chain.
- Strong communication and presentations skills
- A strong aptitude for motivating and influencing teams at all levels without direct reporting authority.
- Key skills: Strategically strong and Breakthrough thinker
- Self-starter that takes own initiative
- Advocacy skills
- Good at seeking different perspectives and works collaboratively
- Influences people to deliver beyond their comfort zone
- Work with diverse external partner organizations on shared initiatives
