Job Description
We have an incredible opportunity for the right leader to join U.S. Bank to shape and guide our Environmental Social Governance (ESG) strategy and efforts. This opportunity will allow you to help create a world-class ESG Program Office for the fifth largest Bank in the country. The ESG Program Officer will lead a team as well as partnering with key leaders including our Chief Responsibility Officer and Chief Administrative Officer to design and execute a One U.S. Bank ESG strategy. This critical role will entail coordinating efforts across all the business lines to identify risk, understand stakeholder expectations to guide our practices and to use these insights to help build plans to drive growth and enhance our reputation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, lead, and execute ESG strategy in partnership with the Chief Social Responsibility Officer and senior leaders across the Bank
- Identify all appropriate metrics, competitive benchmarks, and ensure alignment with all stakeholder expectations
- Identify new ESG initiatives and work across U.S. Bank to implement and algin with overall our strategy
- Deliver clear communication strategy to all audiences including external disclosure and positioning in partnership with Communications
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of ESG-specific experience
- 8+ years of banking experience
- 3+ years of management experience
- BA/MBA in finance, business administration, or related field
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
- In-depth understanding of business functions and processes supported
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
- Well-developed analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Considerable tact, diplomacy, and people skills
- Ability to influence the execution of highly complex or specialized projects and to adapt precedent and make significant departures from traditional approaches to develop innovative solutions
