Position Overview:
POSITION SUMMARY
Environmentally motivated Eco-conscience, customer service driven individual wanted to perform Consulting and Waste Assessments. These assessments consist of sustainability evaluation of green building and deconstruction practices, carbon impact analysis, supply chain procurement, waste, electricity and water efficient resource utilization at customer locations. Upon performing assessments, generates reports indicating overall sustainability baseline, along with a plan and a group of solutions for potential improvements. Has the ability to formulate and implement best practices. Maintains pre-established standards for safety and environmental issues.
DUTIES
- Consult with existing, new and potential customers to develop assessment plans and appropriate potential goals and solutions. These may include waste diversion, energy saving and/or other sustainable initiatives, as well as cost saving opportunities.
- Perform full sustainability assessments primarily focused on green building practices, supply chain procurement, waste composition, energy, water and carbon impacts. Prepare final report, including environmental, social and economic analysis, and present conclusions to the customer in a timely manner.
- Analyze assessment results and consult with client to identify, design and implement environmental sustainability initiatives and cost saving opportunities and proposals.
- Self educate on current sustainability topics, issues, and trends.
- Sales responsibilities for the solutions, services and products derived from initial assessments.
- Ensure compliance with client and government regulations when performing assessments and other onsite functions.
- Promote culture of safety by ensuring site personnel are properly trained to perform assigned duties and comply with safety, environmental, federal, state & local regulations.
- Propose customer solutions that are compliant with appropriate local, state and federal regulations.
- Maintains communications and a close working relationship with key WM Market Area personnel to include, but not limited to MAGM, MASM and sales personnel.
- Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The highest level of supervisory skills that may be required in this job is the management of non-supervisory employees. This includes:
- Possible supervision of non-exempt employees and sub-contractors during the audit process.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Environmentally conscience individual, with strong business, consulting and project management skills. Solid understanding of the current sustainability environment with the ability think big picture and anticipate customer needs. An entrepreneurial skill set is highly valued with the ability to creatively achieve stretch goals and provide new services and value to existing customers.
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Sustainability, Architectural Design, Community Planning or Business and three or more years experience with responsibility in project/business management. Environmental or services industry experience is required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
- TRUE Advisor and/or LEED Green Associate preferred
Working understanding of GHG emissions calculations using the EPA WARM model and familiarity with other types of GHG emissions reporting platforms. \
Knowledge and experience in other sustainability topics including waste, energy, water, and air
- Computer and Tech Savvy – must be adaptable to new programs and systems
WORK ENVIRONMENT

- Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, machine operation, etc) part of the work day;
- Required to exert physical effort in handling objects greater than 50 pounds as occasionally;
