Job Description
The ideal candidate will be passionate and knowledgeable about the intersection of business and sustainability, a highly organized individual, a systems thinker and a proactive contributor who is able to build highly collaborative partnerships with stakeholders inside and outside of Workday.
Workday believes that success is not only measured in financial terms, but also in how we operate in the context of our community and environment. As a member of the Global Impact & Employee Life team, you will be supporting the Sr Sustainability Director at Workday.
Responsibilities:
- Work with external vendor to manage GHG inventory / carbon accounting across global sources including Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions
- Manage energy inventory across global portfolio of offices and data centers
- Manage implementation of science-based targets, including the development of monitoring and reporting capabilities and standardsDevelop and manage supply chain engagement program related to science-based targets, including collaboration with procurement and external partners
- Manage annual CDP disclosure and reporting process
- Assist with sustainability projects across multiple teams, including facilities, operations, and marketing
- Assist with global and regional sustainability programs that contribute to Workday’s unique culture
Skills and Experience:
- 3-5 years experience in corporate sustainability; 5+ years experience a plus
- Knowledge of industry reporting standards related to sustainability, such as CDP, GRI, RE100, and the GHG Protocol
- Experience with GHG inventory and/or carbon accounting strongly preferred
- Experience with CDP disclosure strongly preferred
- Experience with science-based targets development and/or SBT-related supply chain engagement strongly preferred
- Strong communications skills, both written and oral
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy is necessary in order to analyze and finalize GHG reporting, SBT monitoring, and external communications including CDP disclosures
- Organized, responsive, and able to gain support and consensus with multiple stakeholders
- Strong project management experience, including the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
