Position Overview:

The Manager, Environmental and Social Impact & WSL PURE, serves as a key member of the WSL Purpose team reporting directly to the VP of Environmental and Social Impact. This role will be responsible for the execution of WSL Sustainability and WSL PURE projects across all functions of the business including, carbon accounting / GHG accounting and emission tracking, event sustainability, grant management, partner research and vetting, award submissions, and sourcing stories and producing content across multiple digital platforms. This role will also act as a relationship manager for our WSL PURE and WSL Sustainability partners. WSL PURE is on a mission to inspire, educate and empower the global surf community to engage deeply to protect our ocean.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Manage multiple projects within WSL PURE and WSL Sustainability, while working cross departmentally with WSL team members
  • Research an execution of Sustainability programs and guidelines across PURE, WSL & KSWC
  • Assist in the implementation of WSL PURE and WSL Sustainability programs, ensuring they help carry out the organization’s mission
  • Produce and manage content across multiple digital platforms, including social media.
  • Work closely with our partners being the point of contact for all potential needs, ensuring maintenance of these relationships
  • Represent the brand being active and visible at onsite activations and working closely with professional, civic and private organizations
  • Partnering on core environmental issues, strategies, and program implementation
  • Additional Marketing and Communication duties as needed

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in similar sustainability roles with general industry experience, knowledge of environmental and ocean climate related issues, and a track record of successfully implementing sustainability strategies.
  • Experience cultivating and managing partnerships with private sector partners, NGOs, governments, and organizations
  • Outstanding communication skills – including written and verbal communications, interpersonal, analytical, negotiating and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines
  • Prior experience using or managing a content management system
  • Highly competent, active, and passionate about social media
  • Ability to juggle multiple high priorities in a fast-paced environment and have a willingness to learn
  • Highly proficient in Google suite
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Salary Range: $70,000.00- $90,000.00 based on relevant experience
