Purpose:

  • The Supplier Sustainability & Diversity Manager is passionate and leads Xerox’s commitment to corporate and supplier sustainability goals as well as to identify, expand and accelerate the procuring of products, supplies, and services from qualified Diverse and Small/Diverse business enterprises.
  • This role establishes strategy, drives process improvement, and leads implementation for on-going management and reporting activities.
  • The position is a high-profile role and represents the company at various public/external industry events.

Scope:

  • Autonomy- Works under the direction of Senior Global Procurement management. Full accountability for project responsibilities. Receives assignments in the form of objectives. Establishes necessary supplier sustainability and diversity targets and milestones to align with corporate and client objectives. Work is often self-initiated.
  • Influence- Leads and influences team and participates in external industry events related to Supplier Sustainability & Diversity.
  • Complexity- Broad range of professional work activities, in a variety of contexts. Work requires application of fundamental business principles in a wide and often unpredictable range of contexts.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Acts as the primary point of contact for interaction with all stakeholders to advance Supplier Sustainability & Diversity initiatives and maximize Diverse Supplier utilization.
  • Engages supplier outreach, due diligence, benchmarking, and networking to build relationships and monitor trends in the Supplier Diversity space to identify opportunities for diverse suppliers to do business with Xerox.
  • Champions Sustainability & Diversity strategies and tactics to the Global Procurement organization through policies, procedures, training, and hands on support.
  • Establishes metrics and measurements for outreach, sourcing, awards, diversity spend, and other performance criteria to be used by Procurement for diverse vendors.
  • Works closely with Sr. Leaders in Procurement, HR (Diversity), EHS&S, OGC, Government Sector Sales and Contracting, Sales Teams, and external customers to achieve company objectives.
  • Listed as the primary contact on the Xerox Supplier Relations webpage.
  • Acts as the main Procurement team interface for all customer RFP responses to Supplier Sustainability & Diversity questions.
  • Compiles data, prepares and maintains reporting responsibility for Federal, State, Local and Commercial customers.
  • Manages and monitors the Program against all company and departmental goals and objectives, including support for Xerox’s annual Citizenship/CSR reports.
  • Establish strategy, drive process improvement and lead implementation for on-going management and reporting activities for Conflict Minerals reporting.
  • Manages Supplier Code of Conduct initiative through membership in the Responsible Business Alliance.
  • Maintains Diverse Supplier databases and relevant contract data elements.
  • Attends supplier fairs, conferences, and trade events both locally and nationally and manages the budget for all outreach activities (e.g., EICC, CFSI, WBENC, NMSDC, etc.).
  • Keeps current with all regulatory and governmental requirements related to supplier sustainability & diversity.

Background, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Business Management or equivalent work experience required.
  • Bachelor’s required. Master’s Degree or MBA preferred.
  • Preferred to have 1-3 years of relevant work experience in a field related to sustainability and/or diversity.
  • Shows a systematic, analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Above average verbal, written, presentation, and listening skills.
  • Project management skills and experience desired.
  • General procurement knowledge, including contract and sourcing experience preferred.
  • Possesses general understanding of the role played by Global Procurement within a corporate business setting.
  • Proactive self-starter who displays good interpersonal skills and is comfortable interacting with all levels of management as well as executives from external companies.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments to meet deadlines and participate in a fast-changing environment.
  • Ability to research requests/conduct benchmarking and best practice research.
  • Required knowledge of Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint and Visio.
  • Green Belt Lean Six Sigma Certified preferred.
