On January 30, 2011 I had the honor of presenting One Great Idea at the GreenBiz Forum in San Francisco. My One Great Idea is that “ideas are money”. If you are not tapping employees for their solutions, you might as well be throwing away money. I identify that traditional idea management frameworks failed to address 3 important factors 1) the biggest challenge of inspiring ideas, 2) the sustainability factor to the ideas and 3) that the process is cyclical- reward employees inspires greater participation. I also shared examples from Alcoa, Intel, Dow and EMC.
