Job Description

As Director of Sustainability Reporting, you’ll drive the strategy and implementation of Company X’s global sustainability reporting and disclosure. This is a senior level position reporting to the Chief Sustainability Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the CSO the VP of Investor Relations and other C-Suite leaders, the Director of Sustainability Reporting is responsible for the ongoing evolution and implementation of global sustainability reporting and disclosure strategy
  • This a very strategic role aligning on reporting and disclosures
  • Lead the preparation of annual corporate sustainability reports, including environmental report, CDP response, EU Non-financial Reporting Directive (EU NFRD) report, and sustainability bond impact report.
  • Lead a team that partners with cross-functional internal stakeholders to execute key sustainability reporting activities, such as drafting, reviewing, and due diligence
  • Increase alignment across our public sustainability narrative, metrics, and claims across key channels to disclose sustainability information in a format that is aligned with the brand and the business
  • Work with product teams to explore opportunities to bring reporting into products
  • Lead engagements with external consultants and other partners to support key workstreams

Requirements

  •  Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree in relevant field preferred
  •  20 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of sustainability reporting and related frameworks (e.g. CDP, Task  Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), Global Reporting  Initiative (GRI)
  • Project management experience
  • Experience driving development and implementation of sustainability reporting  strategy in a large organization
  • Familiarity with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) ratings and  rankings (e.g. Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI), MSCI, Sustainalytics)  ○ Broad knowledge of topics and trends related to sustainability reporting and  corporate sustainability strategy, including key environmental challenges and  solutions (e.g. climate change, clean energy, carbon footprinting, water, circular  economy)
  • Strong project management skills, driving projects from idea through to  implementation, including identifying and implementing process improvements  ○ Strong stakeholder management skills, including experience engaging with  diverse cross-functional internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency tailoring  format, style, and tone to different audiences and contexts
  • Analytical skills, including ability to set goals, establish metrics, analyze and  synthesize data, identify gaps and opportunities, and develop business cases
  • Experience with data management, analysis, verification, and assurance
  • Experience with managing consultants
