Job Description
Company X is an award-winning lifestyle beauty brand. The Manager, Supply Chain Sustainability is responsible for creating and implementing programs, in partnership with the Company X Supply Chain team, that promote an ethical, sustainable and transparent global supply chain. The role requires an eye to both product and corporate, the creation of a fitting CSR strategy and internal advocacy.
The Manager, Supply Chain Sustainability reports to the Director, ESG.
Responsibilities
- Measurably improve the transparency and sustainability of the global supply chain while supporting the Supply Chain team in achieving their efficiency, service and cost KPIs; including but not limited to reducing the impact of our business operations on both people and planet
- Implement sustainability policies in sourcing, procurement, logistics, manufacturing, warehousing and retailing and recommend updates as new information and technology become available
- Work cross-functionally to affect change within the Supply Chain organization and consciously manage those changes
- Identify risks related to supply chain sustainability, including potential disruptions in the current and projected future supply chain
- Clearly define the metrics and KPIs that will be used to measure the success of sustainability initiatives, providing a framework for ongoing evaluation and improvement that addresses key topics such as greenhouse gas emissions, water impact, land use, waste management, etc.
- Own third party supplier engagement programs including EcoVadis to verify the use of ethical and sustainable practices by our partners
- Embed sustainability metrics into the internal and external vendor audit programs and support their implementation
- Develop and deliver supply chain roadmaps in service of achieving B Corp certification
- Act as liaison between Company X and its parent company Group L’Occitane for implementation of supply chain sustainability programs
- Internal subject matter expert on emerging innovation and technology in the sustainable transportation sector
- Manage ESG data in ERP and other systems and support reporting requirements as needed
- Balance the successful completion of multiple initiatives to the highest standards as established by the Executive Director and informed by the broader organization
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Undergraduate college degree required, masters degree or equivalent professional certification preferred
- Experience working either at a contract manufacturer or for a brand who produces using third—party contract manufacturers
- 5+ years relevant work experience in supply chain, logistics or warehouse management, min 2+ years focused on sustainability initiatives
- Highly organized and focused while able to multi-task and adapt to changing priority levels for ongoing projects
- Ability to work collaboratively across functions, to work independently, and to take initiative when appropriate.
- Open to constructive feedback and revisions on work
- Flexible on work responsibilities and priorities
- Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- SAP experience preferred
- Goal oriented with a positive “can do” attitude
- Must be able to come into the New York office at least 1x per week
- Must be able to travel to vendors at least once per month
