The rise of ESG in the C-Suite
Back in 2011 we recognized a trend of companies establishing the title Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO). Our seminal report CSO Back Story chronicled the role and quantified the number of publicly traded US companies adding the title “Chief Sustainability Officer” to the senior most sustainability person at their company. At the time we identified 29 CSOs.
